Community Involvement Plan

At Terminal 117 (T-117), located in the South Park neighborhood of Seattle, the Port of Seattle and the City of Seattle are performing cleanup focused on reducing risks to human and ecological health by removing elevated levels of polychlorinated biphenyls (PCBs) and other identified chemicals of concern. The Port and City also recognize the community's desire to be a part of the design and cleanup of T-117, and in turn, highly respect the community's values and insight.

To this end, we have prepared this community involvement plan (CIP) with the review and support of the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (EPA), the Washington State Department of Ecology, and several other project stakeholders, such as Duwamish River Cleanup Coalition/Technical Advisory Group (DRCC/TAG). We invite and encourage the community to read, review and comment on the plan.

En la Terminal 117 (T-117), ubicada en la urbanización South Park de Seattle, el Puerto de Seattle y la Ciudad de Seattle están llevando a cabo limpiezas con el objetivo de reducir los riesgos a la salud humana y ecológica con la eliminación de los niveles elevados de bifenilos policlorados (PCB) y de otros químicos identificados. El Puerto y la Ciudad también reconocen el deseo de la comunidad de ser parte del diseño y la limpieza de la T-117, y a la vez, respetan ampliamente los valores y el entendimiento de la comunidad.

Con este objetivo, hemos preparado este plan de participación comunitaria (CIP) con la revisión y el respaldo de la Agencia de Protección Ambiental estadounidense (EPA), el Departamento de Ecología del Estado de Washington, y muchos otros accionistas del proyecto, como la Coalición de Limpieza del Río Duwamish y Grupo de Asesoría Técnica (DRCC/TAG).
